STATIMAT EL

As is well known, in tensile tests on elastomeric yarns (Spandex, Elastane) using conventional testing equipment, the test results are considerably falsified by the yarn slipping in the clamps and by premature breaking at the clamps.

The STATIMAT EL, which has been developed in cooperation with a leading elastomeric yarn producer, is based on a method which has been standardized by BISFA and largely automated by TEXTECHNO; this method completely excludes such problems.

The yarn section to be tested is supplied in the form of a loop, both ends of which are continuously wound up during the tensile test. The sample elongation is then determined from the path of a specific yarn element monitored by a sensor.

In addition to the equipment for this type of single yarn testing, sample holders can also be supplied for alternating-load tests on a group of yarns, as well as clamps for tests on woven and knitted fabrics.
